The new dude playing Spider-Man admits to never having seen the original Star Wars trilogy.  For some reason, that makes me feel really freaking old.

Superheroes in Prose #15 on sale in June!

I picked up this book at HeroesCon after attending a panel by some of the authors.  If you’re interested by the nuances of Star Wars, the ideas of Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell, or would just enjoy thinking about the ideas of Star Wars through a super-interesting and thought-proving psychological lens, definitely check this book out. It would be easily at home in a college classroom, a geek’s bookshelf, or a self-help section at Barns and Noble.

star-wars-episode-7-cast-announceCheck JJ talking to Han Solo in this photo.  I don’t know what JJ is saying, but based off his hand gestures, I’m hoping it’s something like, “… and then the Millennium Falcon, goes shrooooow–and the Tie Fighter goes KABOOM!”

Can’t wait.

Superheroes in Prose Volume 9: 8-Bit Hero, on sale May 28th.

I’ve mostly enjoyed the Star Wars Clone Wars series, but my biggest problem always comes back to the same thing: No matter how good each triumph over the the droid army makes us feel, it’s eventually going to be a hollow victory.  Sooner or later, Palpatine is going to send his troops in to kick everybody’s ass to Tatooine and back.  It makes it difficult to allow myself to have a significant emotional investment.  The only thing I’ve let myself have a stake in is Ashoka … and I can’t see it ending well for her either.
